CPC 08/08/2019: +ve or –ve: Does it matters?

Short synopsis:

The objective of this CPC is to increase the awareness and update on the transfusion management guideline and plan of RhD negative patient.

These presentation is to highlight the transfusion management of RhD negative woman at childbearing age and male patient in emergency and elective situation. The differences of transfusion management in terms of justification and selection of blood products and transfusion outcome/complication are discussed and compared. This presentation also will cover the indication of anti-D immunoglobulin for the prevention of anti-D alloimmunization after transfusion of RhD positive (+ve) blood products and special management of RhD negative pregnant woman also will be covered.

The local guideline and flowchart of transfusion management of RhD negative patient will be emphasized as it is very important for proper blood transfusion support and to make sure mismanagement of the patient can be avoided.
